Writing (WRT)
WRT-102: College Writing and Research Part I (3 Credits)
WRT-102 is the first course in a two semester sequence designed to meet the outcomes of the accelerated College Writing and Research by stretching them across two semesters. These courses are designed to feel like a single course, allowing students to benefit from a writing learning community with the same students and faculty in both semesters. Both WRT-102 & WRT-103 are rigorous writing courses, but they offer more embedded support, more time to practice writing, reading and research skills, and greater opportunities for drafts, feedback and revision. WRT-102 offers students a greater focus on critical reading skills with a focus on deep reading and comprehension, an introduction to rhetorical concepts, genre analysis and disciplinary awareness, and an introduction to research. Students will develop their writing process, engage in peer review, and practice revision strategies. This course offers embedded support from Salve's Writing Center and Library.
