KOR-111:  Elementary Korean I  (3 Credits)  
For students who have no or very limited prior knowledge of Korean. This course provides opportunities to acquire and develop fundamental language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Korean. Students will be exposed to various aspects of Korean culture, including Korean media such as K-pop and K-drama. At the end of the semester, students will be able to read and comprehend simple, written texts, engage in brief everyday conversations, write descriptions of their daily activities, and understand Korean culture. Conducted primarily in Korean.

KOR-112:  Elementary Korean II  (3 Credits)  
Pre-requisite(s): KOR-111 is required.  
This course, a continuation of KOR-111, provides further exposure to listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Korean. Additional focus on contemporary Korean society in everyday life contexts and on various Korean media, including K-pop and K-drama. Students will use social media to practice written or spoken in Korean every week. By the end of this course, students will be able to read and comprehend more complex written texts and to communicate in basic spoken and written Korean. Conducted primarily in Korean.
