Elementary Education and Special Education (B.S.)
A Special Education major must double major in Elementary Education. A student cannot, therefore, major only in Special Education. Also, a student cannot be a Secondary Education and Special Education double major.
The Special Education major is one of the components of the program designed to ready candidates to apply for R.I. teacher certification in grades 1-6. Elementary Education and Special Education majors complete a minimum of 120 credits to earn a bachelor's degree, including 41–44 credits of core courses and 79 credits of major courses.
