Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management (B.S.)
The Bachelor of Science in Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management prepares students to thrive as leaders in one of the world's most dynamic global industries. Rooted in the strength of Salve Regina University's Business and Economics Department, the program combines rigorous business foundations with specialized courses in hospitality, tourism, and event management. Students develop expertise in areas such as global destination management, international tourism economics, food service operations, lodging operations, event production and design, and service quality.
Set in Newport, Rhode Island, a premier coastal destination with a rich heritage of tourism, hospitality, and cultural events, students gain a living classroom experience that connects theory to practice. Experiential learning is embedded throughout the program, from professional practicums and internships to applied projects with local and international industry partners.
With a required global experience - through study abroad, additional internships, or advanced language study -students will graduate with an expanded worldview and the ability to serve diverse markets and cultures. By blending academic rigor, hands-on learning, and international perspective, the program equips graduates to excel in hotel, resort and restaurant management, tourism development, event planning, and customer experience management across the globe.
Tourism, hospitality, and event management majors complete a minimum of 120 credits to earn a bachelor’s degree, including 41–44 credits of core courses and 64-66 credits of major courses.
