POL416: Politics of the European Union

The course examines the rationale for the emergence of the European Union, its institutional development and policy apparatus and process.  It is a case study of the politics of integration within the theoretical context of federalism and supra-nationalism.  The course will demonstrate that European unification is an irreversible process.
