ADJ351: American Prisons as Depicted in Film and TV

The course examines the public attitude of successive generations of Americans as portrayed by writers and directors in the American film and television industry. By studying prison based movies and television shows, the student can actually see the values depicted by the writers and directors which can ultimately be adopted by the public as social and criminal public policy.
