ENG205: Contemporary Global Literature

Fulfills Core Requirement in Literature
In this course students explore the literary and rhetorical qualities of various contemporary texts. Readings are chosen for their relevance to both local and global perspectives. To fully appreciate the literature, students will develop a basic familiarity with the historical and cultural factors at play in each text. This course will improve students’ close readings skills as well as engage them in some of the major debates in today’s increasingly globalized world. This course does not fulfill requirements for the Literature major or minor.
